Himalaya is a unisex hair salon and spa based in Maharashtra, India. It was started in 1965 as a men's hair salon. Over time, they have built a strong tribe by offering professional services and their distinctive skills, and experience of almost five decades. A brand extension in 2021 brought brand new facilities and expanded space to serve both men and women. An innovative version of Himalaya - a unisex hair salon and spa, deserves a distinctive visual identity that portrays the brand's attributes & values.
It was our goal to encapsulate the brand’s legacy and self-esteem through the new visual identity. One essential consideration was to find a balance along the continuum between the traditional and the modern. Good trademarks usually have some element that makes them memorable. Together with a bold, classic lettering style, the classic detailing style portrays the brand's historical existence & legacy, while the boldness stands for the confidence that the brand is known for. Himalaya's new visual identity is built on complementary blue and brown colors combined with ice grey as the primary color. A color scheme like this would help both men and women feel comfortable and justified.
Due to the fact that most salons are known by their names alone, keeping the wordmark allowed the brand to be remembered solely by its name. HIMALAYA!
